C&J's Affinity Program for Radical Inclusion

Comfort & Joy offers free/discounted Affinity tickets for queer, creative and expressive community members of diverse ethnic backgrounds, gender expressions and sexual orientations if the cost of our presale tickets would prevent them from attending otherwise.

The Affinity program is an effort to counteract the systemic racism/discrimination faced by BIPOC, Latinx, Asian, Indigenous, Hawaiian / Pacific Islander, Trans and Nonbinary community members as well as many other categories we haven’t learned to appreciate just yet — we hope that radical inclusion in our events is a first step toward holding space for all within the queer community. If you can’t afford a presale ticket but want to be in attendance, use the form below to apply for an Affinity ticket.

How It Works

First off, over 10% of the tickets for our Touch and Afterglow events are set aside and reserved for the Affinity program. As under-represented community members apply, we distribute half of the Affinity tickets on a first-come, first-served basis; once those are gone, all later applicants are placed on a wait list, and a raffle is held to distribute 1/4 of the Affinity tickets to people on the wait list.

Finally, the last 1/4 of the Affinity tickets are made available at the Door, where our Door Divas distribute to under-represented community members in the Door Ticket line (make sure you arrive before or just as Doors open if you’re angling for an Affinity ticket from a Door Diva).

Note: Affinity Tickets are free. A sliding scale donation of 0-$15 is requested – no one turned away for lack of funds.
